Local Roots and Experience with Complex Matters

Wesley “Wes” Kirkwood grew up in Nappanee and graduated from NorthWood High School in 2009. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Indiana University in 2013 and a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2018.

Before law school, Wes spent two years in Southern California pursuing music. While there, he met his wife, Kaitlyn. His path later took him to a prominent Chicago intellectual property firm, where he worked as a patent attorney on complex legal and technical issues for clients that included Fortune 500 companies.

Wes returned to Nappanee in 2020. As Managing Partner of Kirkwood Law, his primary focus is civil litigation and criminal defense. His work also includes family law, elder law, Medicaid planning, estate planning and administration, and business representation.

Outside his legal work, Wes spends time with his family, plays golf, and cooks. He also sometimes plays keyboard and sings backing vocals in his uncle John Kirkwood’s band.

Based in Nappanee, Kirkwood Law serves individuals, families, and businesses in Elkhart, Kosciusko, Marshall, and St. Joseph Counties.

Local Experience Focused on Families and Individuals

William Kirkwood grew up in Nappanee. He graduated from DePauw University in 2018 and earned his Juris Doctor from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2021.

After law school, William worked as a pharmaceutical representative for several years. He joined Kirkwood Law in June 2024, then moved to the Kosciusko County Public Defender’s Office in July 2025. He returned to Kirkwood Law in July 2026 as an Associate Attorney.

William handles family law, CHINS cases, juvenile matters, and criminal defense.
